Attendance:
● Representatives from each department were accounted for: Allgood,
Bangor, Blount County Rescue Squad, Blountsville, Cleveland,
Dallas-Selfville, Holly Springs, Locust Fork, Mt.High, Murphree Valley,
Nectar, Oneonta, Pine Mountain, Remlap, Ricetown, Royal, Snead,
Straight Mountain, Summit
● Member Departments not present: Brooksville, Rosa, Susan Moore, West

● Associate Members present: EMA, 911, 911 Board, AAC, Training,
BREMSS, Fire College, Coroner, Jr. FF Camp, Special Ops
● Associate Members not present: Lifeguard, Forestry, District Attorney, Law
Enforcement, State Fire Marshal, Air Transport Providers, Red Cross,
VOAD

Financial Report:

Committee Reports-
Chairman:
● H. Stockton standing in for C. Jones
● From Chairman Jones: “I attended the 911 Board meeting trying to help the
commission and need to pass on that we did not apply for Regional Grant
because only (3) sent in the required material.”
EMA:
● Starting March 1, 2025 Mass Alert will switch from Nixle to Regroup
911:
● Invoice for PS Aware sent out
● Update roster for PS Aware
● 12 dispatchers plus (1) currently in training; 16 needed per budget
-Issues with recruiting due to negativity and high turn over rate
● From midnight to 9am (2 dispatchers manning)
911 Board:
● New OPs manager: Dalia Avila
● Motorola Mediation - Motorola did not budge. Will be on the docket for
Federal Court at some point.
● Once tone is found, will be scheduling reprogramming
● Equipment is 30+ years old, will be revamped.
AAC:
● Did not meet in Dec; hope to meet next month
● LGA contract is up next year
● Send suggestions on contract to T. Seehusen
● Want to discuss overload solutions, exceptions, and exemptions
Training:
● Drill field is available if anyone needs. Give 3-4 weeks notice. Contact
Oneonta
Special Ops:
● Tower kick off training, hopefully sometime in the spring.
BREMSS:
● License Renewal is open
AFC:
● Training simulators to try to slow up on travel. Will be in North, AL the first
part of the year and South the second part of the year.
● Fire Officer I class in Oneonta; still have 4 more spots available
● Hazmat at Royal on the 7th
● Email sent on Legislature Training - Invisible Disabilities. Needs to be
complete within 6 months and renewed every 2 years.
● Alabama Volunteer Firefighter Association email group, contact to get
signed up if not already
● Tax certificates for 2024 for income tax available
● Fire trailers are currently down - is being fixed
● (4) brand new props available
Coroner:
● Busy December
● Working on class this year (2-3 days) on airplane crash - Legacy of Hope
helping
● Appreciate everyone’s help lately
Fire Camp:
● Will email out the financial report
● Fundraiser went well
● Fundraiser is also helping to benefit the county with training props
● Will be reaching out for volunteers soon
Unfinished Business:
● Committee for tiered response: T. Seehusen, J. Head, J. Mikell
● CAD limitations
● Will meet with LIfeguard over tiered responses
● Solutions will be proposed for (3) tone depts, rolling calls, having dispatch
ask if continue, etc
● Revisit contract -24 hr supervisor for repsonses, etc
● Possible dispatchers to do ride alongs
● Discuss with nursing homes about emergent vs non-emergent
● Recommend tiered response discussion to be tabled until the rest of the
items addressed
